Day 103 – Piazzale Michelangelo and prizes

D

Yesterday evening was dedicated entirely for two of the winners of my contest. We’ve met at Piazzale Michelangelo and after awarding the bottle of wine to my first place winner, we’ve watched the sunset over Florence talking about future projects, the amazing city in which we live in and how great life can seem from this perfect spot in Florence.

While the sun was setting over the Ponte Vecchio, somewhere over the hills, just near Fiesole there was the most beautiful white fluffy cloud hiding lightnings which seemed like a festival of lights made by the hand of man to please the eyes. I love to go up there once in a while and admire the city I have chosen to live in, reminding myself that no place else would make me feel more at home, more inspired or more comfortable. After some glasses of wine, two cappuccinos and great conversation, I went home relaxed and refreshed, thinking that we are nothing more than beings made of feelings and flesh who can be happy even at the touch of the wind if only we would allow it to happen.

Two winners awarded, one more expected to claim his prize and take me out somewhere downtown in beautiful Florence. Until then, I am curious, do you have any place that you can call home and never doubt that its beauty is forever glued onto your soul?

P.S. Look at this beautiful sunset that we have witnessed while talking about nothing and everything. Photo Credits: Marisa Garreffa
