Day 240 – Befana and a nice walk

D

Today is the holiday of Befana and wiki tell us her lovely story here. On short she is an old woman who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany Eve (the night of January 5) in a similar way to St Nicholas or Santa Claus. But children get gifts from both Father Christmas and Befana.

There was a cool parade downtown today , but unfortunately Ephia had other plans for us, so we just got to see some people in costumes getting ready. Even so, we had a nice stroll on the packed streets of Florence and she even allowed us, adults, to get some coffee at Amble. As usual my neighborhood looks deserted today and with all of these holidays lately, I don’t even remember what day of the week is. I think it’s Tuesday, right?

Anyway, tonight is my last vacation night. I met all my deadlines for this month and after two days of sleeping and relaxing I am ready to get back to work and start writing. So, popcorn night it is, maybe a good movie and tomorrow we will start all over again. Happy Befana day everyone!!!!!
