Day 245 – Dumb smile on my face

D

I had the most wonderful weekend of this year. Yesterday after being reunited with the midgets from the preschool, I had a very fun and interesting meeting for lunch. I received the newspaper with my name on the first page and did a little mental happy dance to celebrate (more details to come).

I got home after three more hours of teaching, exhausted but with a dumb, huge smile on my face. After spending the evening with some friends and putting Ephia to sleep, I woke up in the middle of the night, realizing I didn’t even make it to my own bed, in my own room. The smile was still there though.

Today nothing special happened, except for some quality family time and a stroll in Piazza Santo Spirito where there was a huge market going on; but the smile was still in its place. I think it will disappear from my face by tomorrow, but it will stay within me for a while, just because I need it there. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too and if a dumb smile lands on your face by any chance, don’t chase it away, enjoy the feeling.
