Day 252 – Kind of perfect

D

Sunday again. Woke up feeling tired and moody. Kept mumbling about not being able to bury under the covers until noon like I used to. As usual, I shook all that off from my thoughts and went into Ephia’s room smiling. I had to keep a promise I made to her for today.

All dressed up and with smiles on our faces, we arrived in Scandicci where there was a birthday party going on. Ephia was in heaven. All the confetti, balls and ribbons were hers, all the kids, her playmates. We stood there, watching her run and having fun, feeling what every parent feels when seeing their kid happy. Aside from the minor screaming episode at the end, because we sometimes have the screamer kid on our hands (especially when we have to go), who drives everyone insane, we all had fun. All that running around made our tummies feel neglected, so, not wasting anymore time, we filled them up and dove under the covers for a nap. Oh, yes, the bed was my best friend this afternoon, and I couldn’t climb it faster after Ephia fell asleep.

All that morning fun deserved a proper celebration and what better way to celebrate then coffee and cake along with an evening neighborhood stroll. Kind of a perfect Sunday with the perfect people in it. Ready for a new week? I sure am!
