Thanks to my friend Lee and his wonderful girlfriend Debra, I can bike my way through the neighborhood for the summer (I don’t dare to venture myself down town just yet). Tonight I took out the bike and went to have a cappuccino in the middle of the night. I won’t lie to you, I haven’t ridden a bike in a very long time and now I get why there is that saying: “It’s like riding the bike”; you can never forget it.
To pedal your way without aim in the middle of the night, after a long, hot day, is the most wonderful thing one can do. There’s no traffic so no one is getting on your nerves and the lanes are inviting you to pedal some more. I felt free and happy like a kid when riding his first bike. I sipped the cappuccino, admiring the White Temp (yeah, I named it) and planning our summer together. I arrived home with a dumb smile on my face and I almost wanted to go out again. The next step is buying a chair for Ephia so that we can both enjoy long and fun rides together.
Anyway, if you don’t own a bike, burrow one from a friend and ride it in the middle of the night aimlessly; I guarantee that the next day, you will run off to the store and buy one of your own.
