Day 341 – Writing Workshop

Tomorrow the second meeting for the writing workshop will take place. Lee will talk about structuring and constructing our stories. We will then talk about our characters and how we can touch our readers better through them. I am excited!

With everything going on in my life lately, my classes and workshops have been one of the things that keep me going with a smile on my face. I love teaching even if sometimes I spend more time listening to my students instead of talking, but I think that’s just a flaw I developed because of all the interviews I conducted this year. The kids I am working with are all amazing kids and they all managed to build a special place in my thoughts. Having to give up some of my classes this month was very sad for me and I will miss each and everyone of them. I can honestly say that the storytelling workshop was a good idea and I am happy to see that there are so many children out there who have so much to share through their imagination.

On the other hand the writing workshop keeps me inspired. Each Friday I have to go back in time and remind myself why have I chose this or why did it choose me. I have to think about those days when writing was just a hobby and a far away dream and never forget about my initial steps. That long, hard road, that seems to never end and as I am sure it never will. Being able to be who you really are and share your passion with others like you is amazing. Listening to the other person sharing their view on your commune passion is at least interesting. All in all being in my shoes is worth it once in a while. Have a great weekend you all!
