Day 83 – Riding the White Temp again

After a long time and a long wait, I took the White Temp out for a ride last night. The minute I started pedaling it all came back to me: the sweet taste of freedom, the empty lanes, the fresh midnight air that Florence invites one to breathe; all these wonderful things just by taking a bike ride.

Because I am not actually allowed to ride a bike for too many miles, I just went to one of my favorite places in Florence, that happens to be three streets away from my house and has the best pastries you have ever had. So, my plan was to have both a wonderful ride and a great piece of cake or something sweet to keep my energy levels up (the excuses one makes to have chocolate in peace). I got there, too fast from my point of view and as a bonus I threw in a nice cappuccino to go with my piece of cake. As I was staring into the night, I started thinking how happy little things can make you, lifting up your lips into smiles and caressing your way down the lane that holds only beautiful memories.

It’s been a while since I felt so relieved and good about myself and now that riding the White Temp is back on the menu, I can relax only at the thought that when the night falls upon everything and everyone else, I can ride my way into a very clear and pleasant state of my mind.
