D had the wonderful idea of having a photo-shoot in the garden with us girls. We were suppose to have a nice lunch and then go out in the garden and be supermodels while we play. Well, that was what was supposed to happen; what really happened was that a beautiful storm outburst and ruined our plans. Instead of being disappointed, all three of us enjoyed the pouring and the thunders and by the time Ephia went to have her nap the sun was already shining again.
The shoot being ruined anyway because of the muddy garden, I said to myself a bike ride and a cappuccino would be great for the next hour. D warned me not to go out, but my mind was set and my target chose. I took out the White Temp and I promised her an adventure while I was taking her out of the garage. I have no idea why I promised that, but she got hers. I barely had time to get her all tide up and safe and get myself a cappuccino when all hell broke loose. Oh the joy! I ran to untie her and placed her besides me under the edge of a roof and we enjoyed the rain together. I would have offered her a sip of my coffee too, but I know for a fact she doesn’t drink (hahaha lame bicycle jokes). I love the rain and I especially love thunderstorms, because they give you that feeling of unsafe beauty. I have also had a very nice company and have met a lovely couple that were just passing by and were having a cigarette break on their way home to Pisa. They even offered me a ride home, but I couldn’t abandon my temporary friend, so I politely refused and stayed by her side.It was funny that at some point they asked me if I can hold an umbrella while biking and I realized I can’t, so that possibility was out too. After almost an hour the sun made its way through the dark clouds again and I jumped on the saddle and peddled like never before. In the same moment I was making my way to the elevator from my building, a new thunder struck and when I got inside the house it was pouring again. But me and my two wheeled friend both got our wishes without even a drop of rain on us.
I think this is the most beautiful summer of my life as I have always wished that spring will last all year long and it certainly feels like spring. So, here is to beautiful thunderstorms in Florence, to the wind in our faces while riding a bike and to this wonderful summer weather that makes my wish come true.
